![]() I then used SimShaker + Sound Module to send event-based vibrations directly via motherboard’s built-in audio to ButtKickers. It’s routed through a bus with EQ into the Voicemeeter virtual input device, which has “listen to this device” checked in the Windows stock mixer to mix it back to main audio, routed to the G2 HMD. Incidentally, I also use Voicemeeter’s virtual device to process the sound output from VoiceAttack software with special profile and plugin that let me interact by voice with most MSFS functions, and from ATC software, as both use Windows Text-to-Speech that feels unrealistically clear, so it’s passed through a low-cut and high-cut EQ, leaving a narrow mid-band and emulating radio sound of internal comm and ATC radios. Touchdown is not one of those, it could not be felt almost entirely, and ground roll was very faint (unless it’s grass) - and that’s why I asked my question initially. This gives me general feedback and feel of an engine rumble, grass roll, rapid control surface movements and other MSFS sounds that have enough low-end to be felt. ![]() I used built-in Voicemeeter EQ with a low-pass filter to filter out everything above 60Hz so only low frequencies are passed on. Voicemeeter is configured like this: main output goes to Reverb G2 VR audio device, and it’s also routed to a built-in motherboard audio that is purely used for vibration and is fed to an amp and my DIY Buttkickers. I routed all MSFS audio to Voicemeeter Banana app as a default audio device. For anyone interested in adding vibration to the sim here’s what I’ve done: I researched all my options and I eventually went with SimShaker for Aviators (free) + Sound Module plugin (paid). I have managed to produce some great ‘teeth chattering’ landing effects! You can add your own sound files to SimShaker, that might be the easiest route for you. If you do not have the SimShaker sound module, I suggest that you buy that first. I have successfully modified FS landing sounds this way in the past. You could also substitute the sound file with another one that you know works well and just re-name it to the one you are replacing. Backup your MSFS sound file/s and enhance/boost the lower frequencies of the sound landing bump sound file that you would like to enhance. Download and install Audacity sound editor. Alternatively, (and this is what I have done in the past), locate the touch-down sound in your sound files folder for the aircraft you want to modify the sound for in MSFS 2020. Simshaker has a low frequency sound file it plays over the top of your FS landing sound file. Using SimShaker module you can customise the amount of feed-back you get from the Buttkicker. If you have very specific needs, though, or if you perform certain types of tasks on a large scale, you're probably better off seeking out a specialized program that can more specifically do what you need without having to open multiple programs in the process. There is no way to assign sounds through FSUIPC however, I have not used FSUIPC for some time. Bottom Lineįree Studio is a nice app to have at your disposal, and since it's free, there's no harm in giving it a try. Depending on your needs, you can probably also find a program, even a free one, that performs several of the processes at once that the programs included in this app all do separately. They offer good, basic options for specific processes, but not much more. Nothing advanced: Because all of the programs perform one specific function, and all of them are free, none of them have particularly advanced capabilities. For instance, there is a Facebook Uploader, a Video Call Recorder for Skype, a DailyMotion Downloader, and many more. Lots of options: For each process this app can help you with, you'll have several specialized programs to choose from. Each program also has a How to Use link below it that takes you to a quick instructional page for that program. Options are organized into categories that include Downloaders, Uploaders, Converters, Recorders, and Editors, and clicking on one of these categories brings up a list of between three and eight programs for you to choose from. ProsĬlear navigation: The straightforward interface of this app makes it easy to find just the program you're looking for quickly. No matter what type of task you're out to complete, you can find the right tool for the job in this suite of programs. ![]() Free Studio provides a convenient set of uploaders, downloaders, converters, and more, all through one streamlined interface.
